Judges

Our judging panel brings together senior leaders, sector experts and respected voices from across local government and beyond, alongside previous LGC Awards winners.

The LGC Awards are known for their rigorous and independent judging process. Every entry is reviewed by our panel of 100+ judges before the shortlist is confirmed.

We are hugely grateful to our judges, many of whom return year after year, for the time, expertise and commitment they dedicate to the awards.

Judging process

Every entry is reviewed by our panel of more than 100 judges, comprising senior leaders and experts from across local government and beyond, before the shortlist is determined.

Shortlisted entrants will then be invited to present their entry to the judging panel as part of the second stage of the process. These live presentations allow judges to explore shortlisted projects, initiatives and achievements in greater depth before selecting the winners.

Please note that live judging for shortlisted entrants will take place between 25 January and 1 February 2027 at our London offices:
