William has been Chief Executive of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council since 2009. Prior to that he was Deputy Chief Executive and has held a number of senior manager roles in local government. William is a Member of the Solace Policy Board and spokesperson for Finance and chairs the Kent-wide grouping of public sector chief executives and the Chair of ‘Kent Connects’ – the partnership body that provides systems leadership on ICT and digital initiatives within Kent. His background is in international development, and he spent three years with the International Development Select Committee in the House of Commons and a period of time working within the voluntary sector. William is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).
