Andy is the Chief Executive of East Staffordshire Borough Council in the heart of the Midlands. For 17 years, he has strived to support different elected members, residents, communities and businesses through austerity, the pandemic, local flooding crises and the cost of living. His council has commissioned a place-making and inward investment approach that looks at how Burton upon Trent can be better marketed for investment culminating in an award-winning small music festival (Sonic Boom), which began as a result of a chance meeting during LGC judging. Andy was a lead CEO for the District Councils Network in relation to Healthier Communities as well as the Secretary to the Burton ‘Towns Fund (Regeneration) Board’. He holds a degree and MBA from the University of Warwick and is a governor at a multi academy trust. Earlier in his career he worked at the IDeA.
