Why Attend

What can winning an LGC Award do for you and your team?

  • Share best practice across the local government community: promote and share your work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of local government services across the UK
  • Reward your team: gain recognition for the excellent services you and your team are delivering
  • Showcase your council: highlight the innovative projects within your council and demonstrate how it is a great place to work
  • Raise your morale: hardworking council teams don’t get the recognition they deserve and what better confirmation that you and your team are delivering for your community than by winning an LGC Award?

The LGC Awards turn 30 – and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you!

For three decades, the LGC Awards have been the pinnacle of recognition in local government – the night the sector comes together to applaud the innovation, leadership and outstanding services delivered by councils every single day.

The 2025 event was the biggest ever with a record number of entries and over 1450 people gathering to recognise the fantastic achievements of councils across the UK.

This year’s 22 categories have been refreshed to reflect the local government’s evolving priorities and challenges, with winners selected through one of the most rigorous and respected judging processes in the sector.

In its 30th year, the LGC Awards remain the ultimate celebration of local government at its very best.
