Public/Private Partnership
Enfield Council and Countryside Partnerships
Working together to deliver homes in a challenging market
Rising interest rates and inflationary pressures have created a difficult and volatile climate for increasing housing supply, yet by completing over 400 homes in 2023 and with 1,000 workers on site, Enfield Council and Countryside Partnerships epitomise how a public/private partnership can adapt, innovate and deliver.
The housing crisis requires bold solutions and this partnership has achieved that by embedding flexibilities, attracting more investment and delivering social value to residents. The result is the successful rehousing of all council tenants earlier than envisioned, at a time when the cost of living means new energy-efficient homes are much needed.
Funding London - Greater London Authority
Enhancing startup support through public-private partnerships
Funding London, established in 2004, is a successful venture capital organization addressing the funding gap for early-stage London businesses. From the outset, Funding London has engaged with the private sector on multiple fronts. Some of our partners include private fund managers, co-investment partners, programme delivery partners, or experts providing pro-bono support to our portfolio companies. These partnerships have helped us over the years address complex challenges, drive economic development, and deliver sustainable solutions that enhance the overall well-being of the business community.
Gravesham BC
Gravesham BC working with Ellenor Hospice
Gravesham Borough Council owns our own council housing. When our tenants pass on or leave their homes for somewhere new, we often have a large amount of furniture left behind. On average, we clear three tonnes of unwanted furniture and waste from empty council homes every week – with all the cost of collection and disposal that brings with it.
Our innovative partnership with Ellenor Hospice provides them with vital income, reduces our costs, and reduces the amount of furniture going to be disposed of, making a significant contribution to our efforts to meet our net zero target of 2030.

The partnership created the ""brand"" to gain the awareness and trust both internally and externally which has driven national policy change and secured investment.
