Graham Farrant has been Chief Executive of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council since inception on 1 April 2019. He has worked to ensure a smooth transition from the four preceding councils to the new Unitary which is one of the largest in the country and serves a clearly defined urban population in the three towns. The Council is now embarking on a transformation to become the leading digital and insight driven local authority in the UK, under Graham’s leadership
Previously he was Chief Executive and Chief Land Registrar at HM Land Registry, during which he worked to create a more efficient, highly automated and faster-moving organisation with clarity of purpose and a new corporate strategy. Prior to that Graham was Chief Executive of Thurrock Council and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and had experience in the private sector as Chief Executive of Leisure Connection Ltd, a national operator of sports and leisure centres and pmpgenesis, a sports and business leadership consultancy.
