James has extensive experience within the field of regeneration, development and property management, overseeing the creation of a unique business model, and the subsequent management, of a devolution deal with Homes England, to accelerate the delivery of public sector land holdings for both housing and commercial development within Telford delivering more than 1.5m sqft of employment floorspace, 2,000 jobs and 1,300 new homes.

Significant achievements to date include:-

  • Delivering a range of regeneration schemes including major mixed use town centre schemes and currently overseeing LUF and Towns Fund projects with a value of £150m.
  • Delivering a range of investments to bring improvements to the Borough and generating additional revenue through the management of a £50m investment funds.  The majority of the investments being delivered where the Council acted as developer, including new hotels, industrial and retail units.  
  • Supported the creation of NuPlace, the Council’s wholly-owned housing company that has delivered private rented sector properties as well as additional properties to support foster care placements by removing barriers around suitable accommodation.
