As Executive Director of Children’s Services, Jo has delivered back-to-back Outstanding Ofsted judgments in our Children’s Services.  This is in addition to taking the Service from Requires Improvement to Outstanding in our judgment cycle.  

Jo has a child-centred approach which has seen her lead on a number of initiatives to ensure that the Council provides the very best in terms of our Children’s Services which has seen the Council be selected as a DFE sector-led improvement partner.  

Together with her commitment to continuous improvement, Jo has also overseen the delivery of significant savings within the Children’s Services team whilst maintaining an Outstanding service.  This has been delivered through collaborative working with other teams to look at innovative ways of facilitating foster carers to be able to look after children with more complex needs at home reducing reliance on placements.
