Skills & Learning Adult Community Education (ACE)
Skills & Learning Adult Community Education in Dorset goes from strength to strength, punching above its weight, as evidenced in Social Return on Investment (SROI) calculations. The service is supporting two councils with a patchwork of interdependent societal and economic issues. The service reaches those who are most likely to benefit but least likely to engage in education through a multi-faceted approach to Delivery, Collaboration, Commissioning and by cleverly leveraging and dovetailing numerous funding sources to best effect to add value to other Council services.
Haringey Council
Housing delivery team
Haringey’s nationally recognised Housing Delivery Team is implementing its commitment to build 3,000 new council homes by 2031. With 2,027 new council homes already completed or underway, as part of this £1bn housebuilding programme, the team is helping more families to echo the words of one mother: “my daughter fell in love with the house, her dream home”.
The team is challenging traditional perceptions of the housebuilding sector (over 60% are female, many are BAME), empowers residents to shape their communities, designs energy efficient, sustainable homes that tackle climate change and contribute to placemaking, and are adapted to tenants’ needs.

Culture Liverpool – Eurovision 2023
Culture Liverpool is a division of Liverpool City Council whose objective is to develop, produce and deliver major outdoor events of local, national and international significance across the city of Liverpool. The programme aims to enrich the lives of Liverpool's residents whilst ensuring the city is exciting, vibrant, inclusive and forward thinking therefore making it an attractive place for people to live, work and do business. The team deserve the award for Large Team of the Year in 2023 due to their incomparable delivery of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and the huge success this has been for the city.

The Medway Food Partnership was established in 2020 with a vision to create healthy and happy communities by ensuring that everyone has the access, knowledge, and skills to enjoy healthy nutritious food, whilst ensuring that we create an eco-friendly and sustainable local economy. The partnership brings together 143 partners from a diverse range of organisations across its 5 subgroups:

Newham LBC with London Network for Pest Solutions
Raising the bar for council pest control
LNPS is a pest control company wholly owned by the London Borough of Newham. LNPS offers all aspects of pest control from providing a Borough-wide, residential free rat service, a free-to access service for council residents and a paid-for domestic service that operates across London and the Home Counties. The company holds the national contract covering 505 Cancer Research UK charity shops and superstores. As well as pest control, LNPS has diversified and does pigeon proofing and has launched a very successful and ground-breaking rodent proofing service.
Nottingham City Council
Mental health support team
The Mental Health Support Team in Nottingham City is a national example of success, we have built a team of multidisciplinary professionals, working innovatively to provide a mental health service to 76 schools and are in line to be 25% ahead of national government objectives. We provide a support system for all of our children and school to be able to access frontline support, when it is needed. 95 %Our children are seen within 4 weeks of referral, and we have bespoke training, supervision and support offers to schools who need help with developing mentally healthy systems and policy.

Supporting parents as first educators
The excellence of service development to support parents and children is greatly attributed to the Early Years team, the Early Years leadership and partnership work with PEEPLE. Through collaborative efforts they leveraged their expertise and skills in addressing the local needs of families. This collaborative approach ensured a comprehensive understanding of those needs and enable effective/ integrated support services. The early years team’s leadership played a crucial role in coordinating these efforts, facilitating innovation, and ensuring the delivery of effective services that meet the diverse needs of both parents and children.

Legal services team
2023 has seen a transformation in how St Helens Borough Council’s Legal Services team does business with the rest of the authority.
This transformative change has allowed the team to not only achieve service excellence and maximise efficiency but also generated ‘creative space’ within the team to ensure the delivery of bespoke legal solutions to help achieve the council’s ambitious programme for the borough.

Staffordshire Virtual school are innovative, creative, and bold – finding new ways of advocating for our children with social care involvement. Listening to the children’s voices, we act, we make progress, we deliver, and we launch! We break down barriers and find way for each child to reach their full potential through high support and high challenge. We support schools, social workers, and carers to increase expectations. We have high aspirations for our children and strive to ensure their voices are heard, this included the children’s commissioner who has recently endorsed our film made with young people in care.
