The LGC Awards is the premier event of the local government calendar.
We are pleased to announce the winners for the 2025 LGC Awards.
Last night more than 1,400 local authority professionals last night gathered at Grosvenor House, London to celebrate the very best in local government.
The LGC Awards are the biggest and best ceremony recognising the achievements of officers and politicians in local government – and last night’s ceremony was the 29th time the Local Government Chronicle event has been held.
The LGC Awards see entries from council teams across the UK undergo a rigorous judging process presenting their ideas and innovations to panels of senior officers from other councils. , LGC seeks to share the winning ideas across local government to inspire other councils to improve their own services.
Stand-up comedian, writer, and actress Maisie Adam announced the winners including Council of the Year, Telford & Wrekin Council
LGC editor Sarah Calkin said: “The LGC Awards celebrates local government at its best. Our winners have gone above and beyond to deliver for the places and people they serve with passion, commitment and creativity at a challenging time for councils.
“But the LGC awards is about more than just one night, It is about sharing the secrets of success, and amplifying the innovation taking place across the sector.”

Set your reminder, and find out who made the shortlist! This exciting announcement will confirm to the world of local government the organisations, teams and individuals who are leading the way in the sector.

Time for our judges to decide who from the shortlist is deserving of the gong. All shortlisted entrants will be invited to present in a 25 minute slot with judges, on a day between 27 March and 04 April. For most categories this is done in-person at our London offices. Judges decide on the day who will win the award, after seeing all of the shortlisted entrants present.
