Chief Digital and Information Officer,
Ed’s career in local government has been shaped by his work to turnaround in-house services and work in partnership with others across the sector and more widely.
Ed started his career in local government when he moved from British Airways to the London Borough of Lambeth. There he centralised the departmental ICT team into a corporate function and brought together the digital and transformation teams. This enabled greater co-operation across different council functions and a change programme to improve citizens’ access to all council services.
Ed led on bringing together the data, digital and technology functions across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster (the tri-borough). He was also responsible for assessing the business case and operating model options for a similar shared service across Camden, Haringey and Islington. He continues to actively support and drive more working together across local government and led on early thinking in the development of the London Office of Technology Innovation.
Ed serves as a Board member and trustee for the Stroke Association, and has been recognised as one of the top-100 UK Chief Information Officers.
