I have now been Chief Executive of London Borough of Bexley for two years and what a period of challenge and change that period has been. In my career, I have been lucky to work across 11 local authorities in central and east London under Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats and no overall control political leadership and worked within the committee, mayoral and leader and cabinet political structure.
During the pandemic, here in Bexley, we have organisationally adapted, developed and transformed our services and we want to make sure that in the months and years ahead we build on all we have learnt and achieved in these most unusual of times.
I was attracted to the Bexley Chief Executive role because of its ambitious growth strategy, outstanding children social care, top performance at recycling and a real focus on delivering excellent services for residents while working with them to improve their local environment and building for the future. What I have found is that with our resilient and connected population, committed and passionate workforce and partners and a shared common purpose we can and do make a real difference.
