Ian Miller took up the role of Chief Executive of Wyre Forest District Council in December 2009. After 13 years in the civil service working on several areas of policy and legislation, he moved to local government in 2000 as head of finance, Welsh Local Government Association and then from 2002 as chief executive of Denbighshire County Council. From 2002 to 2008, he was also clerk to North Wales Fire Authority.
Ian has been Honorary Secretary of the Association of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (ALACE) since July 2016 and a member of its National Council since 2012.
Ian represents the West Midlands on the District Councils’ Network Chief Executives’ Group and is the DCN’s lead chief executive on Brexit.
