Future Cities Catapult
Max is an Associate Director of the Future Cities Catapult with responsibility for leadership development. His career spans both private and public sectors, with a common thread of delivering transformational change enabled by technology and a digital mindset.
He was formerly Strategic Director of Business Change at Bristol City Council, and an Executive Director at Barnet and Suffolk Councils. Prior to that Max worked for many years in adult care with people with learning difficulties in Hillingdon, in training and development and then in corporate transformation in Enfield.
He moved into consulting with SOLACE enterprises, leading their work on leadership and cultural change, and whilst there was the author of books on organisational development (Transforming your Authority) , cultural change (The Working Council) and leadership in political environments (Leadership United). He was a member of the SOLACE Policy Board, leading on Innovation and Commissioning.
Max has also worked extensively in the private sector and spent six years at BT Global Services as Director of Local Government Strategy, iMPOWER as a Director and at EY as an Executive Director.
Max has been recognised by LGC as one of the top 30 most influential voices in local government. Max is a graduate of Henley Business school, has two sons and lives in Somerset.
