Southampton City Council
Sandy has experience working in public and private sector service industries. Sandy is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA) as well as holding an MBA and Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Directorship (CertIOD).
Sandy has held a number of public sector leadership roles and is currently the Chief Executive at Southampton City Council. Previously CEO across two councils in Eastern Hampshire where she developed businesses with interests in a number of ventures and service industry entities. As well as strong corporate leadership experience Sandy's background includes Marketing, Leisure & Tourism, Regeneration & Economic Development and Logistics including financial strategy, organisational development and democracy.
Sandy also participates in national government work to improve public services including the National Leadership Centre, Solace and the Local Government Association (LGA) and is currently the Chairman of the Hampshire Public Service Chief Executive Group. Sandy is also a member of the Southampton2025 Trust bidding for UK City of Culture in 2025.
Sandy is keen to support improvement and learning and sits on the Portsmouth University Business Advisory Panel as well as being a mentor for national and future local government leaders.
