Sandy has experience working in public and private sector service industries. Holding a Masters in Business Administration, Diploma in Marketing and BA (Hons) Degree in
English with History, Sandy is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds a certificate in Company Directorship from the IoD (Institute of Directors).
Sandy has held a number of public sector management roles covering disciplines including Economic Development, Marketing, Leisure &Tourism and Corporate logistics.
Sandy was appointed Chief Executive of Havant Borough Council in September 2007 and took on the Chief Executive role for East Hampshire District Council in October 2009.
In addition to her CEO role at both Councils, Sandy is Chairman of the Hampshire Chief Executive’s Group, Chief Executive Lead for the Partnership of South Hampshire (PUSH) Sustainability work and a board member of the Hampshire Local Nature Partnership. Sandy also participates in national government initiatives to improve public services including the national Joint Chief Executive’s Group and is the Hampshire Chief Executive on the national Local Government Association (LGA) CEO Sounding Board.
Sandy is the Policy Lead for the Local Government equivalent of the national IOD - Solace Innovation and Commissioning Board.
Keen to support improvement and learning in the community Sandy also sits on the Portsmouth University Business School Advisory Panel as well as being a mentor for national and future local government leaders.
