Eric has been Chief Executive of Wirral Council since 2015. Before this he was Deputy Chief Executive of Staffordshire County Council and was Director of Social Services at both Enfield and Cambridgeshire before that.
He has worked with the Cabinet Office to set up the National Commissioning Academy and has delivered many major transformational projects during his career, such as service integration, mergers and setting up new organisations.
Since his arrival in Wirral we have devised the Wirral Plan, a single Vision agreed by all stakeholders; set up the Wirral Partnership and are collectively delivering through common purpose and shared resources, improved outcomes for residents. Community Safety functions of Police, Fire, Health and the Council are integrated. We have a devolution deal, a Combined Authority and have set up the Growth Company alongside work on other key industrial and housing developments. NHS and Social care have been fully integrated.
The Council is changing the way it operates and its culture. Our Vision is very much about leading our place, improving outcomes for our residents and being creative about the best ways of meeting needs and delivering services.
