Dominic Harrison is the Director of Public Health for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, a member of the Blackburn with Darwen CCG Board and a Visiting Professor at the University of Central Lancashire.
His has previously worked as Deputy Regional Director of Public Health for the Department of Health in the Government Office Northwest; also for NICE and the Health Development Agency as Associate Director for the North West Region.
Dominic has worked on a number of public health system reviews in Central and Eastern Europe for the World Health Organisation and was recently a member of the Marmot European Review team who published ‘WHO (2013) The Review of Soccial Determinants and the Health Divide in the WHO European Region’. He has written on public health issues for the Guardian, the Local Government Chronicle and the BMJ. His principal professional interests are related to health governance, life expectancy , health and the eonomy and the health outcome implications of poverty,inequality, social justice and sustainable development
