Mish Tullar leads the communications, policy and environmental sustainability functions for Oxford City Council leading teams of around forty people, and is a member of its executive team. Having joined in 2017 he organised the UK’s first Citizens’ Assembly on Climate Change in Oxford in 2019 that has set the Council’s policy direction on sustainability. He also coordinated the development of the Council's 2020-24 Corporate Strategy and is currently working on a new strategy to cover 2024-28. Mish has also overseen delivery of the Oxford Superhub, Europe's most powerful public EV charging facility. Previously Mish had a long career in corporate communications and policy, working at a senior level for a number of large companies including Royal Mail, British Gas, National Grid and Amey. He started his career as a news journalist with Channel Four.
