Katherine Kerswell has been working for the Croydon Council since September 2021 . Katherine has been chief executive of 6 other LA and has worked in LG for over 30 years. She has worked in the private sector for a then FTSE100 company and the civil service. She was Health Services Director for Capita for 3 years working in an NHS Community Trust and Director General, Civil Service Reform, between 2012 and 2014. Career highlights include: • President of SOLACE • Non-executive director of the Board of the Department for Children Schools and Families and Chair of the Audit Committee • Non-executive director of UK Borders Agency and Chair of the Audit Committee • Creation of a not for profit organisation “45 for the 45th” to improve young people’s participation in politics by learning from the US 2016 presidential primaries and presidential election. Katherine has represented LG on a number of government and national commissions and has written and spoken extensively on public sector reform, leadership and change management.
